Exciting things lie ahead for people obsessed with web series format. Popular online streaming platform Netflix is known for their quintessential stories, and we all have friends who are binge-watching these shows. From space adventures to crime dramas, Netflix will make sure that you are glued to the screen all day.

Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte starrer ‘Sacred Games’ is the first Indian original series to premiere on Netflix. Sacred Games is a crime drama based on a novel of the same name authored by Vikram Chandra. The story deals with the ruthless underworld of Mumbai. The series is produced in partnership with Phantom films and features hour-long episodes.  Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap will direct the series along with co-producer Vikramaditya Motwane.

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan
believes that it is tempting to stick to one’s comfort zone, but it is essential for an actor to experiment to have a long and respectable career. Khan was immensely loved for portraying the cheeky best friend character in 2001’s Dil Chahta Hai, a decade after being in the industry. However, he received real appreciation for the film Omkara. Critics claim that the movie reinvented the actor’s stance in the industry.

During an Interview with a popular daily, Saif Ali Khan got real and confessed, “If you have been successful with one genre, it could be tempting not to change that. But look at people who have slightly longer wider and respected careers, they are the ones who have experimented and done different kinds of works.”

The 47-year-old actor believes that great work cannot be done in isolation. He thinks that the film industry is reached at a certain maturity to bring out real subjects.

For Khan, when the opportunity to play the web series came knocking, he couldn't say No.

“I had heard Netflix was executing something in India and I thought as Illuminati films (his production house), we should experiment something within that space. I thought it would be fantastic to do a mafia show, more than a love story or a comedy. So when Vikram offered me the show, I thought I would’ve done something similar but was offered it as an actor, so I grabbed the opportunity” Says Saif Ali Khan.

The series features Saif Ali Khan playing the emotionally-complex Sikh police officer, Sartaj Singh while Siddiqui plays the morally-corrupt gangster Ganesh Gaitonde. Set in modern-day Mumbai, Sartaj Singh, a seasoned and cynical Bombay Police officer, is summoned by an anonymous tip that promises him an opportunity to capture the powerful Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), the criminal overlord of the G-Company. It will start streaming on Netflix from July 6.
